How our recommendations are made
We want to be plain about this, because a lot of review sites are not. Our rankings are computed from published product specifications and demand data. We do not perform hands on testing, we do not operate a laboratory, and no one here takes a vacuum apart on camera. What we do is gather structured data at a scale a single reviewer could not, then apply the same scoring rules to every item in a category so the comparison is consistent.
What goes into a ranking

Specifications come from the manufacturer and from retail listings, and manufacturers occasionally publish figures that flatter their own product, so treat any single number as a starting point rather than a verdict.
